The German luxury car giant BMW has now finally launched the 2014 Z4 roadster in India. The base Z4 sDrive35i variant is priced at Rs 68.9 lakh, while the Z4 sDrive35i DPT (Design Pure Traction) costs Rs 69.9 lakh (ex-showroom).
When compared to the outgoing version, the facelifted Z4 remains largely unchanged except minor styling updates. The changes given to the car include LED daytime running lights integrated to the headlamps, revised front bumper, new indicators, chromed slats and a new set of 18 inch alloy wheels. There are subtle design updates given to the interior trim as well. Other changes are a folding display on iDrive system and new audio system with 14-speakers.
Other than the abovementioned features, the DTP variant sports different interior trim options and an exclusive orange body colour. There are no mechanical changes given to the car as it continues with the same 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine, capable of churning out a maximum power output of 306PS and 400NM of peak torque. The 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission gearbox too has been retained which transmits power to the rear wheels.
BMW is also planning to launch the 3-Series GT and i3 electric car in India by 2014.
