This will be the first time when Honda City will have a diesel mill, and that too the most frugal one in the country. With increased wheelbase, more features and better design, the new 2014 Honda City will be better than its predecessor in all the departments.
Update 1: Mr.Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, MD, Honda Motor Company is on stage to deliver the welcome and introduction speech along with speaking about some facts related to Honda City.
Udpate 2: He says that the fourth generation Honda City is the most fuel efficient car in the country, and its CVT automatic variant too is the most fuel efficient automatic car in its league.
Update 3: Now Mr. Hirnori Kamayama is on stage to speak about all new 2014 Honda City and the legacy of the brand 'City'. The company has sold over 4.3 lakh units of the City ever since its launch in 1998.
Update 4: The New Honda City has received a superb response all over the country. The car has received over 9000 pre-bookings even before its launch, says Honda Official.
Update 5: Now Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. VP- Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India is now speaking about the popularity and credibility that the Honda City has always carried over its rivals.
Update 6: Now Mr. Sen is talking about the design of the new 2014 Honda City. The fourth generation Honda City has taken its design inspiration from Honda's Exciting H Design Concept, which will be seen in all the future models of Honda. The new Honda City has 'sleek crossmotion' exterior and 'layred floating cockpit' interior. The car has clear-cut side panel with dynamic and powerful rear fender.
Update 7:With 60mm more legroom, 40mm more shoulder room and 79mm more knee room, thanks to the extended wheelbase (2600mm), the new 2014 Honda City is more spacious and comfortable than ever, adds Mr. Sen.
Update 8:New Honda City has the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine powering the Amaze. And the company has tuned it so well that it now becomes country's most fuel efficient vehicle with 26kmpl of mielage. Earlier, the Amaze was the most fuel efficient car of the country. So, the real competition is between Honda and Honda- a win win situation.
Update 9:Honda Cars India has installed several Sound Insulation System materials in the All new Honda City to make it great at NVH levels as well.
Update 10:The New Honda City will have five-inch display, 8-speaker audio system with CD player and Reverse Camera. The Audio system also supports Bluetooth and Aux-in.
Update 11:The new Honda City also has AC vents for its rear passengers.
Update 12:Other features are alloy wheels, front fog lamps, power outlets at the rear seats, chrome door handle, sunroof, push start-stop button, keyless entry etc, making it an even more feature rich than before.
Update 13: The new Honda City comes in two engine options- 1.5-litre i-VTEC 117bhp and 1.5-litre i-DTEC 98.6bhp in total 5 trims- E, S, SV, V and VX (in both petrol and diesel).
Update 14:New 2014 Honda City petrol to come in five-speed automatic and five-speed manual transmission gearbox options. The diesel will will have a six-speed manual gearbox.
Update 15:To keep your journey safe, new 2014 Honda City comes with several safety features including Anti-Lock braking system (ABS) with EBD, airbags etc.
Update 16: The company claims that the maintenance cost of New Honda City will be lesser than all its competitors. In fact the spare part cost too of the city is very competitive.
Update 17:And here comes the big announcement, new 2014 Honda City starts at Rs 7.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which means almost the same price at which Hyundai Verna's entry level variat comes. The new City diesel starts at Rs 8.62 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
