The much awaited Honda City diesel will be launched tomorrow in New Delhi. Honda Cars India has already been overflowing with the pre-booking orders for the sedan, showing the kind of response this car has received all over the country. The price and variants of the next-generation City will be officially unveiled on January 7th at the launch event.
It'll be the first time that Honda City will come in a diesel avatar. The fourth-generation City will have the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel mill that powers the Amaze as well. This engine delivers a peak power of 98bhp and 200Nm of peak torque. The City petrol will be configured with the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that produces a maximum power of 117bhp and 146Nm of torque. Transmitting power to the wheels will be a six-speed manual transmission in City diesel, while five-speed manual and five-speed automatic in petrol models.
Honda cars are known for their powerful yet frugal engines, and the new City will not be an exception here. Claimed to be the most fuel efficient car of the segment, the next-generation City diesel will offer an ARAI certified mileage of 26kmpl. Available in two transmission options, the City petrol offers a mileage of 17.8kmpl with a five speed manual transmission and 17.9kmpl with an automatic transmission. The pricing of the car will be officially unveiled at the launch tomorrow, but we are expecting the new Honda City to be priced in the range of Rs 7.5 lakh to 12 lakh.
Stay tuned as the Autoportal representatives will bring you live updates directly from the launch event tomorrow. Cheers!
