Honda Cars India has already announced the launch of new 2014 Honda City on 7th January, with pre-bookings open for the car across all Honda dealerships in India. Now when the launch is just a week away, details about the new City's variants and features have been leaked, giving us a clear idea of what all the car has to offer to its buyers.
The new City will be made available in a total five trim levels both in petrol and diesel models- E, S, SV, V and VX. The petrol model will sport the 1.5-litre i-VTEC mill that is also found under the existing city model. This engine is capable to belt out a maximum power output of 117bhp, while yielding 145Nm of peak torque at 4600rpm. This engine will be made available in both five-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmission gearbox options, returning 17.8kmpl and 17.9kmpl, respectively. The diesel model on the other hand will sport the new 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, capable of producing a maximum power output of 98.6bhp at 3600rpm and 200Nm at 1750rpm. This is the same engine powering the Amaze, though in the case of New Honda City, it returns 26kmpl of mileage, which makes it the country's most fuel efficient car. The diesel version will be offered with a six-speed manual gearbox.
All the variants of new Honda City will have Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with EBD and a driver side airbag, except the base petrol coming only with the ABS. Three top-end variants will additionally have dual airbags for both driver and front passenger. The top three trims will also get the automatic climate control and AC vent for rear seats. The base trim will get the manual air conditioner. The top-end trims of the new City will feature five-inch display, 8-speaker audio system with CD player and reverse camera. The mid trims S and SV will have 4-speaker system, though without a CD player and the reverse camera.
Other features to be offered with the car are alloy wheels, power outlets at the rear seats and front fog lamps. Additionally, the VX model will have chrome door handle,s sunroof, push start-stop button, keyless entry and others.
