The Czech Republic automaker that has recently launched the new Octavia, is now planning to launch the Skoda Superb facelift in India in February. Though the company hasn't officially said anything on this, we are expecting it to be displayed at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, starting from February 7th. It was first showcased at the Shanghai Motor show in April 2013 and launched in the European nations in June. The company is currently testing this vehicle in India.
The new Skoda Superb will receive some vital cosmetic alterations. The new 'Skoda' logo will be embossed on new grille, just like the Octavia. The honeycomb design is new for the front bumper. The bi-xenon headlights and integrated LED DRLs are the new styling elements. The revised A-pillar and alloy wheels will grant a refreshing look to its side profile. The Superb facelift will also get new rear lights with LED elements, adding more to its elegance.
The typical European interior will be carried over from its predecessor, but with added features. Undoubtedly, the material quality will be 'superb'. The facelift will have more to offer such as electric sunroof with integrated solar cells, 6.5-inches color touch screen, an integrated solar cells, Automatic Parking Assistant and automatic lock and start system.
Having equipped with highly robust braking system and sophisticated safety measures, the new superb has already been awarded with a five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. The engine will remain same. The new version will be made available in 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine and 2.0-litre TDI diesel units. The seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission and a six-speed manual transmission are the options for its petrol unit. For better fuel efficiency, the new Superb will borrow some features from its European version such as energy recuperation and stop-start technology.
