Audi is all set to unleash the next big Audi here in India, the A3 tomorrow in Delhi. The car has taken some time coming here into India especially considering the fact that its main rivals the Mercedes A-class and BMW 1-Series have been around for almost a year now. However Audi wanted to launch the A3 in its saloon version and not the hatchback, since it believes Indians love the social status of a proper saloon car.
The new Audi A3 sedan will be powered by a 1.8-litre TFSI direct injection turbo-petrol engine with around 176bhp mated to an eight-speed gearbox. There will also be a 2-litre diesel engine with 144bhp of power which will be paired to a six-speed automatic. The car is expected to start at Rs 25 lakh, making it the most affordable Audi in India on sale till date.
