The new Audi A6 has been launched in India at a price starting at Rs 54.2 lakh. It will initially be sold as the A6 45 TFSI only, with a diesel engine to be put on sale later.
The new A6 is powered by a sole engine, a 1984 cc four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 240 bhp and 370 Nm. It powers the front wheels only via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Top speed is limited to 250 kph, and 100 kph can be attained from a standstill in 6.8 seconds. The company claims fuel efficiency at 14.11 kmpl from this BS Vl model.
The new Audi A6 has been equipped with a lot of features, like four-zone automatic ‘deluxe’ climate control, a touchscreen-based center console, which has two touchscreens, another digital screen that displays all the instrumentation to the driver, 8 airbags, LED headlamps, a driver’s seat with all-electric function and memory.
Satellite navigation is standard, and if you opt for the top-spec ‘Technology’ trim, you’ll also get a premium 3D audio system from boutique manufacturer Bang & Olufsen. This audio system has 16 speakers, 15 channels, and puts out 705 Watts. The upholstery is premium leather, and you can choose between a dark brown or beige.
The new A6 is offered in a choice of five exterior colors: the usual suspects are present, in a solid white, and a metallic black and metallic grey. There is also a deep blue and deep red, both metallic shades.
The Audi A6 Facelift competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, and Jaguar XF in the Indian market. There are also a number of SUVs like the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Volvo XC60 at a similar price.
