Audi launched the new Q5 at a starting price of Rs 53.25 lakh, tagged for the Premium Plus 35 TDI and Rs 57.60 Technology 35 TDI variant in India. The new version gets update to the exterior and as well as interior. The car will pounce with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Volvo XC and the upcoming BMW X3 that will make its presence at the 2018 Auto Expo. Sharing Volkswagen’s MLB Evo platform from its larger sibling, the new Q5 SUV is around 90kg lighter than its predecessor and borrows some styling cues as well.
Speaking of the exterior, the new Audi Q5 comes with the Audi’s signature single-frame grille with Matrix LED headlamps, rear sports LED taillights, a roof-mounted spoiler and a new bumper with a rear diffuser. The Car will come equipped with a host of electronic aids including adaptive cruise control, active lane assist, collision avoidance assist, pre-sense front and rear, park assist, blind spot warning, to name a few.
Under the hood, the new Audi Q5 is power packed with a 2.0-litre TDI turbo-diesel engine that makes 187 bhp of top power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain comes mated to a 7-speed S Tronic gearbox that can make the car acceleration from 0-100 kmph dealt in a mere 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 218 kmph. Compared to the outgoing model, the new Q5 has gained around 8 percent more power and is 20 percent more fuel efficient.
