Audi India has launched the new RS7 Performance at a sticker price of Rs. 1.59 Crores (Ex. Showroom, New Delhi) in the country. The new Audi RS7 Performance is the most powerful avatar of the RS7, with both power output and torque performance being upped significantly. The 5-door sportback also comes with Audi cylinder on demand (COD) system, which only activates four of the eight cylinders when under part load. In addition, Matt Titanium styling package with inlet funnels is exclusively available with the new Audi RS 7 Performance.
Audi RS7 Performance gets Audi Matrix LED headlamps as standard feature. The front fascia comprises of gloss black honeycomb grille, sporty bumper and bigger air inlets. The new sedan comes rides on 20-inch forged aluminum wheels in seven twin-spoke design, while three different 21-inch wheel designs are available as options. The rear-end comes with distinctive spoiler lip, integrated diffuser and new tail lights interior design. Two optional styling packages – matt aluminum and carbon – are on offer to further customize the appearance. The RS 7 performance specific exterior is distinguished by a quattro logo on the air inlet duct and add-on parts in matt titanium look. In addition to the existing colors, the sedan will also have an exclusive color- Ascari Blue. Audi also provides a host of customization options through Audi exclusive.
Inside the cabin, Audi has updated the instrument cluster, air outlet controls, shift paddles, quattro emblem, and the MMI infotainment system that now comes with an Nvidia graphics processor. The dial instruments feature black faces, white dials and red needles, while RS logos and screens adorn the key, the flat-bottomed three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, the illuminated entry sills, the tachometer, the large driver information system display and the power-retractable monitor of the MMI navigation plus system. RS sport seats, finished in honeycomb-quilted Valcona leather in either black or lunar silver, with pronounced side bolsters and integrated head restraints are standard. Power-adjustable comfort seats with memory function are available as optional. The boot capacity is 535 litres, which can be further increased to 1390 litres.
Standard equipment in the new Audi RS 7 Performance also includes four-zone automatic air conditioning, MMI navigation plus with touchpad control (MMI touch), Heads-up display, Bose surround system, Independent Sports Air Suspension and RS Sports exhaust system. Optional high-end features range from a Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System, quattro with Sports Differential, Dynamic Ride Control, Ceramic Disk Brakes, Dynamic Package Plus and an array of customization options from Audi Exclusive to name a few. Identical to the new R8 high-performance sports car, Audi Drive Selector is available as standard feature with five driving modes: auto, comfort, dynamic and individual.
Under the hood, the Audi RS7 Performance has the 4.0L V8 TFSI engine which develops 605bhp (increased by 45bhp) of top power between 6100-6800rpm and 700Nm of peak torque between 1750-6000rpm. Though, the torque can be taken upto 750Nm by activating the overboost function. The engine is offered with an 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission, which allows the driver to choose between the modes D and S or change gears manually either by tapping the selector lever or by using the shift paddles on the RS multifunction sport leather steering wheel. Audi quattro permanent all-wheel drive system is also a standard feature. The supercar does the 0-100kmph sprint in just 3.7 seconds, an improvement of 0.2 seconds over the respective base model. Top speed with the optional dynamic package is 280 kmph and 305 kmph with the dynamic package plus. The new top-of-the-line model consumes just 9.5 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
