Like we have discussed many -a-times during the initial revealing of the next-generation BMW 1-series, the compact crossover is definitely a level up than the previous generation model and that is evident by the way she looks. To add to the flair, a 2015 BMW 1-series facelift has been caught sporting M-Sport package in Lisbon, Portugal.
Although available in more than 10 variants, this particular model is a 118d which comes with an x-Drive all-wheel drive system and fitted with M-Sport package. Painted in Estoril Blue, the M-Sport adds a lot of oomph factor to the compact SUV. Apart from the next-generation 1-series, BMW is also testing the sedan version of 1-Series and has been caught multiple time testing in disguise.
The 118d is powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.0 litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 150hp and 320Nm of torque. The power is sent to all the four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox and weighs 75 kgs more than the rear-wheel drive 118d. Despite of the added weight, which hampers performance a bit, the car can still do 0-100kmph in 8.4 seconds and has a top speed of 210 kmph.
The M-Sport package comes at an added cost of $5000 and can be included in both the three-door version and the more practical five-door model. The BMW 1-Series directly compete against Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Volvo V40.
