New BMW 3 Series Bookings Open Online, India Launch on August 21

Snapshot: Bookings for the seventh-generation BMW 3 Series are open on the company’s official website ahead of its official launch in the country on August 21, 2019.

BMW India will launch the all-new BMW 3 Series in the country on August 21, 2019. It is reported that bookings for the New BMW 3 Series are officially open on the company’s official website. Besides, the model has started reaching all authorized dealerships in the country. The seventh-gen BMW 3 Series will see changes on the feature front and is claimed to be more comfortable over the preceding model.

Built on the Cluster Architecture (CLAR), it shares underpinnings with the 5 and 7 Series. Also, the model has grown in size, sporting larger dimensions, however, it retains the basic silhouette. Design changes such as new L-shaped LED daytime running lights, larger grille in front, bolder shoulder line and redesigned tail-lamps have been made to the seventh-gen BMW 3 Series. 

New BMW 3 Series India Launch Confirmed

The increase in dimensions does not carve out more space in the cabin which now receives 40/20/40 split-folding function at the back and more storage points. There is no increase in cargo space and it continues to offer 480-litre of storage room.

List of features now includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is curbed by BMW’s latest iDrive system. In addition, a larger 10.25-inch unit will be optional. Also, it packs a reverse camera, three-zone auto climate control, LED headlights and several others. A digital instrument cluster and some other additional bits will be reserved for the top-spec variants. 

As for mechanicals, the model will continue to get the 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine from the previous model. The 2.0-litre petrol unit will be calibrated to put out 6hp more power (258hp) on the 330i version, however, the 190hp, 2.0-litre oil burner will see no change in output.   

The New BMW 3 Series will continue to rival Audi A4, Jaguar XE and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
