BMW India has launched the new 3 Series GT at an introductory price of Rs. 43.30 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, New Delhi) in the country. Being locally developed at the German luxury automaker's Chennai production facility, the sedan is available in diesel and petrol variants at all BMW dealerships across India from today onwards. The new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is available in two exclusive design schemes – Sport Line and Luxury Line. Just so you know, the new 3 Series GT had its world premiere at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, just a couple of weeks back.

It exudes aesthetic and emotional appeal, boasts a distinctive presence on the road and offers similarly pronounced driving pleasure.” The new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is available in Alpine White (non-metallic) and in the following metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect and Melbourne Red with two new additional colors Jatoba, Arctic Grey Brilliant Effect.
As for exterior styling, the new BMW 3 Series GT features coupe-like downward-sloping roofline and a large automatically opening and closing tailgate. It flaunts bold kidney grille, Adaptive LED headlamps with automatic height activation and four ‘white’ LED corona ring design. The sedan also gets Adaptive Cornering lights, High-beam Assistant system and LED tail-lamp cluster as standard. Inside the cabin, the new 3 Series GT boasts of a new Center Information Display (CID), aluminium door sill plates, sports leather steering wheel, exclusive colours for the ambient lighting and chrome edging for the air vents. Just so you know, it comes with a cargo function that can increase 520-litre boot by up to 33 litres. The BMW iDrive, the on-board Driver Information system, with 22.3 cms display which consists of BMW Navigation system Professional with 3D maps, BMW Apps, Park Distance Control (PDC), Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB/AUX IN connectivity is a standard feature on the new sedan. For those asking, the vehicle key is designed in black with a red decorative strip.
Speaking of safety, the new BMW 3 Series GT comes with an array of first-grade features such as 6-airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Side-impact Protection, Runflat tyres with reinforced sidewalls, emergency spare wheel, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensor. Under the hood, the diesel variants has the 2.0L 4-cylinder engine which develops 190bhp of top power and 400Nm of peak torque. It does a 0-100kmph sprint in just 7.7 seconds. On the other hand, the petrol variant derive its power from a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, which churns out 252bhp and 350Nm. It is faster than the diesel sibling as it sprints to 100kmph mark from standstill in a mere 6.1 seconds. Both the engines are linked to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, which is also available with steering wheel paddle shifters.
