BMW India has silently added a petrol variant to the X1 SUV line-up, the sDrive20i that gets a price tag of Rs 37.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). BMW X1 sDrive20i is available in the mid-variant - xLine With the addition of this variant, BMW X1 now has a total of five variants to offer for the Indian buyers. The car pounces with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLA Sport, Audi Q3, and Volvo XC40.
In terms of features, the new BMW X1 sDrive20i will come equipped with a 6.5-inch touchscreen iDrive infotainment system, leather-wrapped steering, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, and electrically adjustable front seats with memory function. While for the safety, it gets a slew of tech like six airbags, ABS, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Brake Assist, Hill Descent Control (HDC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Side-impact Protection, etc. to name a few.
Mechanically, the petrol version of this BMW will come packed with the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol unit that develops 189bhp of power and 280Nm of peak torque. The engine is BS-VI compliant and comes paired with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that transmit power to the front axle, unlike other diesel variants comes with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system. It can do a 0 to 100kmph sprint in 7.6 seconds, before hitting the top speed of 224kmph.
