German auto major BMW that has recently rolled out the 5 Series facelift in India, is planning to roll out 2-3 products in the next couple of months. These include new BMW X5, BMW 3 Series GT and the new Z4 roadster. First to enter the Indian car market is the new Z4 roadster, which had made its public debut at the Detroit Motor Show, earlier this year. BMW X5 and 3 Series GT will be rolled out later. The new Z4 will be launched in November.
Deriving its power from a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, twin-turbocharged mill, the new Z4 is capable of churning out the maximum power output of 335bhp and 450Nm of peak torque. Also on offer is the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which transmits power to the rear wheels.
In terms of design, the new Z4 roadster looks quite similar to that of the existing model; however, minor cosmetic updates help it look refreshed. The changes include new LED lights, revised front bumper, new indicators with chrome finish and few others.
At the launch of new 5-Series, BMW has also shared its plans of investing Rs 390 crore at its Chennai facility to add a new assembly line, which will enhance the company's production capacity; The company also shared its plans of assembling a total 8 product at the facility from the existing six models.
