The new Datsun Go and Datsun GO+ both gets subtle updates to their exterior and interior along with the addition of features and safety as well. Nonetheless, both the updated models get around 28 new features and more than 100 unique upgrades. Both the models will be available in five variants – D, A, A (O), T and T (O).
Speaking at the launch, Thomas Kuehl, President, Nissan India Operations said, “The new Datsun GO and Datsun GO+ is conceptualized for the new-age Indian consumer, the millennials who are mature, smart goers, family oriented with a progressive and evolved mindset. Powered by Japanese engineering, Datsun GO and GO+ are equipped with fabulous new features and upgrades for a more comfortable, safe and stylish driving experience.”
Talking about the exterior, the new Datsun GO and Datsun Go+features a revised styling – redesigned headlamps and front bumpers and vertical positioned LEDs DRLs. The nose gets some tweaks to the grille, giving it a more refreshed appearance. The higher variants of the updated models will ride on the 14 inch diamond cut alloys along with parking sensors. For safety, Datsun is offering driver’s side airbag and ABS as standard fitments, whereas the passenger side airbag will be available on the range topping version, to keep the model up to date as per current safety norms.
The goodies are more reserved for the interiors in both the models – a revised dashboard will welcome you as you step inside. The layout of the dash has been tweaked with the newly designed AC vents on the centre console along with the segment-first new 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Audio with Android Auto & Apple Car play compatibility. Another noticeable change is the revised instrument cluster that gets a tachometer. Not just that, the new Datsun GO and Datsun GO+ also gets electrically adjustable ORVMs along with rear power windows.
Mechanically, the new Datsun Go and Go+ will be powered by the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that makes 67bhp of maximum power and 104Nm of torque. The engine will come paired with a to a 5-speed manual transmission. As of now, Datsun never offered an automatic on these two models, but we can expect the car to get an AMT in the future.
