Ducati is working on an all-new Panigale 959 as a number of spy shots have surfaced online showcasing a mechanically updated 'Baby' Panigale 959. The New Ducati Panigale 959 also sports a few cosmetic tweaks. For the update, Panigale 959 is the entry-level model of Ducati's Panigale series. Ducati replaced its 1299 with the new Panigale V4as the Italian manufacturer's flagship product. And, rumours of a heavily updated entry-level Panigale 959 in the works followed.
The Ducati Panigale 959 seems to be powered by the same Superquadro twin motor but the initial rumours suggested that Ducati might use a detuned V4 on the Panigale 959. Reports suggest that Ducati has increased the Superquadro twin's displacement and power figures. Speaking of the cosmetic updates, the 'Baby' Panigale 959 sports an all-new side body fairing and the V4 inspired front facade. Ducati has ditched the conventional double-side swingarm this time and opted for a single-side swingarm on the Panigale 959. The 959 is also equipped with a new exhaust collector.
Ducati might introduce high-end Ohlins suspension and other premium electronics like wheelie control on the new Panigale 959. In the current form, the Ducati Panigale 959's Superquadro twin motor makes 150 bhp of peak power at 10,500 rpm and 102 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The superbike is also equipped with a dual-channel ABS, traction control with anti-lift function for the rear wheel, Engine Brake Control and riding modes.
The ongoing Ducati Panigale 959 has a quick shifter as well, Ducati calls it DQS (Ducati Quick Shift). The motorcycle in the spy shots seems to be a production ready model and the Italians might unveil it at the upcoming EICMA. For the update, Ducati Panigale V4 has already been sold out for 2019 in India.
