Ford India is all set to launch the new Endeavour SUV in the country. But prior to the official launch, the variants and features of the new SUV have been revealed. New Ford Endeavour would be offered in two trims - Trend and Titanium - with a total of 6 variants, including a 4X4 and automatic variant. In addition, the SUV would get several premium comfort and safety features as standard.
Talking about the standard features, new Ford Endeavour would boast of Ford MyKey, eight-way power adjustable front seats, Ford SYNC infotainment system with touchscreen and voice control, CD/MP3 player, Bluetooth and aux connectivity with steering-mounted controls, dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, powered tail-gate and cruise control. The range-topping 4X4 variant would also get Ford's Terrain Management System, 7 airbags, automatic headlamps, LED daytime-running lamps, LED tail-lamps, ambient lighting, front parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Mechanically, the new Ford Endeavour would come with two diesel engines. There would be a 2.2L, 4-cylinder engine which would generate a maximum power of 158bhp. The higher variants would get a more powerful 3.2L, 5-cylinder diesel motor which would churn out 197bhp of top power. The smaller and less powerful 2.2L mill would be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while an automatic transmission is also available as optional. On the other hand, the 2.3L engine would only be available with the 6-speed automatic gearbox. The AWD system would come as standard with the larger engine, while with the smaller engine, it would be optional.
As for safety of the occupants, the SUV would come loaded with dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), traction control, hill-start assist etc. as standard features. For those asking, each variant would have a 7-seat layout and the second row would come with split folding feature, and reclining and sliding functions. The third row would also have split folding functionality. The new SUV would be presented in 6 paint shades: Sunset Red, Diamond White, Golden Bronze, Moondust Silver, Panther Black and Smoke Grey.
