New Ford Everest Concept showcased at 2014 Beijing Motor Show

Snapshot: Ford showcases Everest Concept at the Beijing Motor Show. The company will launch the model next year

Ford has once again shown the Everest Concept (Endeavour in the Indian market) at this year Beijing Motor Show. The American automaker unveiled the Everest Concept last year in Australia and announced start of production by this year end as a 2015 model. The Chinese market so far has not been so big in big size SUVs, but a certain interest is developing and ford hopes to capitalize on this. Ford will start assembling the 2015 Everest with JMC, Ford's Chinese joint-venture partner, in China around the same timeframe.

The Everest concept is based on the Ranger platform with a complete makeover to its already rugged appeal. The model looks extremely beefed up from either side, thanks to the new kinetic design language. New angular shaped headlights bordering a trapezoidal multi-slat grille is paired with a short-hanging front bumper giving it a raised yet muscular stance. The side profiles continues boasting a similar rugged appeal without any sharp character lines and heavy cladding on the doors.

The Everest Concept will also spawn the next-generation Endeavour for the Indian market which is expected to reach our roads in the first quarter of 2015. The India bound model is likely to get a new-generation diesel engine under its hood along with a host of class-leading features.
