Ford has officially unveiled the new Freestyle compact utility vehicle in India in January 2018. Now with the website going live for the new model, we have some more set of details of the new Ford Freestyle. The car will be offered in six exterior colour options – Canyon Ridge, Smoke Grey, Moondust Silver, White Gold, Oxford White and Absolute Black. Whereas, as an accessories you can also opt for a roof wrap and body strip.
Speaking of the Exterior, the Freestyle gets a blacked-out front grille flanked by the smoked headlights, new front dual-tone bumper, featuring a large air dam with an integrated silver scuff plate and C-shaped fog lamp. The model gets a black body kit with a blacked-out ORVMs and integrated turn signals, blacked-out B-pillars and silver roof rails. The rear end features a roof spoiler and redesigned bumper with a silver scuff plate.
Mechanically, the Freestyle would be available in two engine options - a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine which produces 95bhp with 120Nm of top torque, and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine,same that serves the Figo hatchback. The diesel engine belts out 99bhp of maximum power with 215Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties in both the engines will be catered by a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Ford Freestyle will be offered in four trim levels on both the engine option – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+. Some of the standard features that all the variants will boast of, are dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, three-point rear seat belts, reverse parking sensors and rear fog lamps. While, the Trend gets some more added features like a rear-view camera, and front and rear fog lamps, the Titanium get ESP, Hill-start Assist, and traction control (also known as Active Rollover Prevention). Apart from these features, the top-of-the-line Titanium+ also gets four more airbags and an emergency assist system.
The Ambiente variant also gets folding rear seats, power windows in the front (with a driver’s side auto-down function), keyless entry, a 12V socket, a day/night rear-view mirror and adjustable front seat headrests. The Trend version also gets features like a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, all four power windows, and steering-mounted audio controls along with a tachometer, gear shift indicator and boot light.
The Titanium and Titanium+ trim get automatic climate control, follow-me-home headlamps, rear washer and wiper a height adjustable driver’s seat and front seat belts, push-start button, auto up and down functions for the driver’s side power windows, and electrically adjustable and folding outside rear view mirrors. However, the Titanium+ variant also gets automatic headlamps and wipers, automatic day/night inside rear view mirror, infotainment system with additional USB port that comes with Ford’s Sync3 Voice control system and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
The new Ford Freestyle will soon make its launch in the coming weeks and is expected to range between a price tag of Rs 6 lakh - 8 lakh (Ex Showroom, Delhi).
