The India launch of the next-gen Renault Duster is expected to be delayed for some time now. As per the news coming, its arrival in the Indian market could be withheld and may take some more time to be launched.
The launch of Renault Captur could be the major reason behind the delay of Indian-spec car. It is believed that the automaker is concerned about the fact, that the launch of Duster could hamper the sales of Captur in India, as it is placed above Duster in the company’s portfolio of production. Captur is expected to be launched in India in October, so the automaker could withhold the launch of Duster for some time to give ample time to the Captur to establish itself in the market.
It was showcased for the first time at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The 2018 Renault Duster is the second generation product of the previous model. It is a five-seater compact SUV featuring significant design updates from the outgoing model.
The India-bound model is built on the same platform as the Captur. It features redesigned headlamps with LED DRLs, extended front grille and new creases on the bonnet to get refreshing styling. It sports new 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior of the upcoming car has been provided with a completely new dashboard featuring improved infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Under the hood, the next-gen model offers same set of engine mechanism with some changes. The car could be offered with a new 1.6-litre diesel engine replacing the older 1.5-litre unit, while the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol version could be retained.
Dacia Duster, known as Renault Duster in India is expected to launched in the early 2018 for the European market. However, the car is expected not to arrive in the Indian market before 2019.
