Maruti Suzuki’s compact MPV, Ertiga is set to receive a generation change soon. Going by the spied images, the second-generation Ertiga looks largely same as the Indonesia-spec model. At front, it gets redesigned grille, new headlamp clusters and reworked bumper with circular fog lamps on it. The sides of the car feature power-operated outside rear view mirrors with integrated turn signals and silver alloy wheels.
On the inside, the second-generation Ertiga gets beige colour scheme and faux wood trim on the door panel. The front seats are covered in dual-tone beige upholstery and it gets a centre arm-rest. To match with the dual-tone interior, it features a dual-tone dashboard which comes layered with a touchscreen on the centre console. The climate control buttons are also placed on the lower side of the console.
Interestingly, the spied car was equipped with an automatic gearbox and was seen with a start/stop button. There is a new 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and the switchgear comes with a silver trim. The instrument cluster features two dials with a central MID.
Mechanically, the new-generation Maruti Ertiga is expected to be offered with a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine good for 103bhp and 138Nm torque. The new engine will replace the current 1.4-litre unit and will additionally get a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that will be replaced with a new 1.5-litre oil burner at a later stage. Maruti is also expected to offer a six-speed manual unit with the carline.
