Honda has confirmed that they are going to introduce a new version of their car Honda Jazz in the motor show in Tokyo, likely to be held in the month of November. The car would be unveiled with a new name, “Fit.” Honda has chosen this name to introduce the car to the Japanese market. Some time back Honda had introduced Jazz to the Indian markets; however, it was not accepted readily by the car enthusiasts mostly due to high price. Indian market is very sensitive to the fuel consumption, taking into account the rising price of fossil fuel and generally looks for economic value. The car manufacturer then lowered the price but the cut back was not financially viable and they stopped the production of the car. The car is likely to reappear in the market with diesel engine in the future.
Honda has recently decided to design cars on the concept theme and the new Fit model will also be launched under the concept theme. The concept theme introduces new design technology. Managing Director of Honda UK further added that they want both “functionality” and “sporty” look in the car and the concept theme will see to it that the cars have these qualities.
Fit will be built on the same platform which was unveiled in the motor show at Detroit. However, it is very likely that the car will face a tough competition from other car manufacturers, e.g. Nissan who have recently launched their new model. It is also likely that it would have the Earth Dream engines. The engine capacity and other details are not yet revealed. However, the car is likely to have 1.5L “i-TECH EarthDreams” engine, but there is no confirmation yet from the car manufacturers whether this news is true or not. This new entry from Honda is said to have spacious interiors and other qualities which makes Honda’s name famous as a car manufacturer, good performance from engine.
It is hoped that Fit will be introduced to the Indian audience next year. The Indian car enthusiast will wait for it anxiously, maybe this time the car would be eagerly accepted by fans.
