The Japanese automaker Honda is all set to launch the next generation Jazz in the year 2014, in Japan. This new car will be known as the Fit in Japan and Jazz in India. This next generation of Jazz is expected to hit the Indian market also in the year 2014. The first generation of Jazz had already been a leader in its class, in terms of style, space, performance and quality, but due to a huge price tag, it did not see much success in India. This led the company to stop production of the vehicle. The Jazz or Fit is expected to have the same look or a few changes to the design when it comes to India.
The car is available in four variants, the 1.3 liter, 1.5 liter petrol and a 1.5 liter hybrid, also has one diesel variant. The Jazz will be available in automatic and manual transmission options, but these engines are available only for the Japanese, in India the car is predicted to be equipped with a 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol engine and a 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel variant, these are the same two engines that the Amaze is powered by. The hybrid is not expected to be launched in India any time soon, but is expected to deliver a mileage of 36.4 Kmpl, which if it does, will be the highest of all current hybrid models in Japan. The Jazz is 60 mm longer than its predecessor and has a boot space of about 400 liters.
The new design of the car is very sharp edged as they say, it doesn’t have that grown-up look, like its predecessor. But keeping that party apart, the car is definitely going to be a leader in its class when it comes to looks, handling and performance.
