Going by current speculations, the numbers are roughly between 13,000 to 15,000 bookings. And these numbers would only swell immensely once the prices are disclosed at the launch on 23rd October 2018. The frenzy for the much loved Hyundai Santro is surely going to catapult pre-launch booking numbers to over 20,000. The overwhelming response for the hatchback apparently can be gauged from the fact that customers are choosing the top models - the Asta (manual variant) and the Sportz AMT version.

After Hyundai had unveiled the Santro to the media, the company commenced registering pre-bookings online.
All variants will get ABS and a driver-side airbag as standard. A 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Voice Commands and MirrorLink will be seen in the Sportz variant. A standard feature in the Asta will be dual airbags. A beige and black colour scheme will adorn the interior of the new Santro. Customers will get a wide range of options among seven shades.
The new Santro will produce power from a 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol motor, thanks to Hyundai's Epsilon engine breed. Its BS-VI compliant engine can do a max torque of 99 Nm and 68 bhp. Producing the same max torque of 99 NM but less power of 58 BHP will be its company fitted CNG kit with a gas holding capacity of up to 8 kg. The fuel efficiency of the CNG variant is not yet disclosed while the petrol motor gives 20.3 km per litre of mileage.
Both the variants will get a gearbox with 5-speed manual transmission. But the petrol version gets an additional option of 5-speed AMT unit. Instead of a hydraulic actuator, the automated manual transmission unit uses an electric actuator which is made by Hyundai and it is run by a separate electric unit.
