New Hyundai Santro price leak: ranging from INR 3.88 lakh & CNG models only in two variants

In a surprise turn of events, prices of the upcoming 2019 HyundaiSantro have surfaced prior to its launch on 23 October 2018. As per reports, the new Santro range begins at INR 3.88 lakh (ex-showroom Haryana NCR).

And as per the leaked information, the starting price of the new Hyundai Santro stands between its rivals like Maruti Celerio (INR 4,21,386* onwards) and Tata Tiago (INR 3,39,821* onwards). The range will be offered in nine different layouts consisting of five equipment lines, two transmission and two engine options.

It will come with one engine and two gearbox options but the CNG-fitted variants of the Santro will be offered only with a manual gearbox and that too in the mid-spec Magna and Sportz variants.

The 2019 Hyundai Santro offerings will come in Asta, Sportz, Magna, Era and Dlite categories. The petrol version churns 69hp with the help of a 1.1-litre petrol engine that proves fuel efficiency at 20.3kpl. Meanwhile, the CNG version will deliver 58hp through a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Magna and Sportz models will have the option of a 1.1-litre petrol-CNG engine that develops 59 PS and 84 Nm of torque.

Interestingly, CNG will not be offered in the top-ranging Asta. Similarly, the two Santro CNG models will miss out on features offered in the Asta model, such as the rear AC vents, the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a reverse camera. In terms of safety aspect, the Santro will be equipped with ABS, driver and co-driver SBR, a driver's airbag, EBD, speed alert system and rear parking sensors as standard.

The Asta variant will offer passenger airbag, front fog lamps and a reverse parking camera as well. The top-spec model will also come with steering mounted audio controls and electrically folding exterior mirrors with integrated turn indicators.

The new Santro flaunts the cascading grille and once in the market, this hatchback will be offered in seven paint schemes.

Dealers will most likely start deliveries of the new Hyundai Santro models around October 25, 2018.
