Just a few days back, Hyundai had teased the new facelifted Hyundai Sonata sedan with a few sketches. But, according to sources now, the official images of the car has been leaked. And trust me on this, even though the teased sketches looked better leaked images, the upcoming version does look promising.
Having said that, Hyundai deserve good credit for having done a fine job with the new Sonata facelift by tweaking the aesthetic cues to make it look sportier and more aggressive than before. The facelifted version gets larger bumper and a fresh looking headlamp cluster, along with new LED DRLs. The reworked front bumpers has larger air intakes.
According to sources, the tail section of the facelifted Hyundai Sonata will also receive some major updates. The boot lid is expected to look sportier than before while the tail section will see a finely styled horizontally stretched tail lights cluster and redesigned bumper.
There is currently no official word on the mechanical specification of the sedan. However, there are speculations among automobile enthusiasts that it might get the company’s new 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine from the i30 N hatchback. If this turns out to be so, the new Sonata could bear an engine with a maximum power of 275 bhp.
The new Hyundai Sonata is inching closer to a launch in the Korean market. Hence, expect some more insight to this car in the coming weeks.
