The new upcoming Jawa has been previously spotted a number of times in a disguised form. But recently, the bike is seen clearly in great detail without any camouflage. As visible from the new spy picture, the bike reminds strongly of the past time JAWA with its signature headlamp profile, iconic silhouette, dual-tone chrome finish on tank, and not to forget its flared mudguards with pinstripes reminding strongly of the JAWA 250.
Some of the minor changes that have been carried on to the new bike include its newly placed ignition switch, newly designed tail-light, the huge radiator is clearly visible at the front, along with its single flat seat which has been raised a little from the back. Also, the overall riding stance of the new JAWA appeals very similar to the past bike.
The bike gets a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which puts out close to 27hp and 28Nm of peak torque. The engine features dual overhead camshafts and comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. The company says the new engine has been built on a completely new platform, but we do believe it’s basically a derivation of the 300cc engine seen in the Mojo.
The bike will be launched in India on the 15th of this month. Stay tuned as we bring you more updates.
