Recently, Mahindra christened its upcoming compact SUV, the new Mahindra XUV300 that was earlier called by its codename – S201. The new XUV300 is slated to make its launch in the first week of January 2019 and some of the Mahindra dealers have started accepting bookings for the model unofficially, at a booking amount of Rs 11,000. The new Mahindra XUV300 will pounce with the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the upcoming Nissan Kicks.
The cheetah inspired compact SUV would boast of class-leading features like 7 airbags, dual-zone climate control and all four disc brakes. It will also get other features such as 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, coloured MID, multi-functional steering wheel, ABS with EBD, brake assist, front and rear sensors, rear parking camera, sunroof on the top-end W8 variant, etc. to name a few. The new XUV300 is expected to fall in a range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 11 lakh, where the top version would also feature sunroof.
Mechanically, the new Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV would be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol variant would be an all-new 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that develops around 128 bhp of power, while the diesel version would come packed with a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel unit that makes 121 bhp of maximum power and 300Nm of top torque. Initially, expect it to come with a 6-speed manual transmission, and later, it would also get an AMT as an option.
