Mahindra recently launched the XUV300 SUV in India starting at 7.90 lakh (Ex-showroom) with a manual gearbox only and we also informed that Mahindra will soon add an AMT version to the lineup sometime later this year, and now the AMT version of the Mahindra XUV300 has been spied doing some test rounds. The compact SUV would sport a 6-speed AMT and the variant spied was the W6 diesel. Earlier, BS VI Mahindra XUV300 test mule has been spotted doing some test round on the Indian street.
Mahindra will offer the 6-speed AMT on both petrol and diesel engine. Mahindra XUV300 is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 110 bhp @ 5,000 rpm with 200 Nm of peak torque @ 2,000 - 3,500 rpm; and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel mill that develops 115 bhp @ 3,750 rpm and 300 Nm of top torque @ 1,500-2,500 rpm. As of now, the transmission duties are carried out with a 6-speed manual transmission, which is standard across the model range. And soon the 6-speed AMT will be added to the line-up.
Speaking of the equipment, the Mahindra XUV300 comes packed with many segments first features 7 airbags, four disc brakes, front parking sensors and more. That apart, the XUV300also features projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, dual-tone roof rails, sunroof, dual-zone AC with automatic climate control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and GPS navigation, rear parking sensors, heated ORVMs, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, Front & rear fog lamps, ESP with roll-over mitigation, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, ISOFIX child seat mounts, 3-point seat belt on all seats and seat belt reminder for all seats.
In the sub-compact SUV segment, the Mahindra XUV300 rivals against the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and recently launched Hyundai Venue. With the launch Hyundai Venue, many other models need to get an update, Ford has already reshuffled the feature list for the EcoSport range and Mahindra XUV300 too will get an AMT version soon.
