Maruti Suzuki would launch the Alto K10 facelift later today with an AMT gearbox. The company has already released a teaser image of the new K10 on a new micro website. The bookings for the new K10 are already open at Rs. 10000 country-wide at Maruti dealerships. The new iteration of K10 hatchback would boast several never-seen-before features and arrive in an all-new avatar with increased fuel efficiency.
The teaser image released by Maruti focuses on all-new dual tone interior cabin, driver side airbag and auto gear shift (AMT) technology. The Alto K10 is all set to become country's most affordable automatic car, courtesy the AMT gearbox. The interiors are also brand new and for the first time ever, it would come loaded with a driver side airbag as standard safety feature in the top-end trim. In addition, it would also boast features like 2-DIN music system with USB and AUX compatibility and Radio, CD and MP3 functions, power steering, front power windows, fog lights and internally adjustable wing mirrors. There are upgrades at the exterior front as well to make the product appear premium and up-market.
Mechanically, it would retain the same 1.0L, 3-pot K-Series petrol engine which is being seen on the ongoing model of the hatch. Similarly, the power output and torque performance would also be the same, i.e. 67 bhp and 90Nm, respectively. However, the company has re-tuned its effectively to get a fuel economy of 24.07kmpl as compared to the 20.92kmpl of the current model. It is also being almost confirmed that Maruti would launch a CNG variant as well which would have a mileage of 32.26km/kg. The engines would be coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission, except for the top-end trim which would be mated to a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).
