We have been updating you on the every single development surrounding the new Maruti Alto K10, which would come with an AMT gearbox. The latest reports claim that the company has showcased the Alto K10 facelift version at a local concert in Chandigarh. It is been revealed by our friends at GaadiWaadi and they further claim that it would be launched either in the month of November or December in the country.
As visible in the pictures, the new Alto K10 appears quite identical to Alto 800 and is based on the same. However, the headlamps are entirely new along with the bumper, which distinguishes it from the Alto 800. Also, the tail lamp cluster and rear bumper are redesigned to provide it an identity of its own. Inside the cabin, there is dual tone black and beige upholstery. The instrument cluster and centre console is expected to witness some subtle upgrades. The production of Maruti Alto K10 facelift has already commenced at company's Gurgaon manufacturing unit.
Mechanically, the Alto K10 facelift would be powered by the existing 1.0L, 3-pot K-Series engine which is good enough for generating a power of 67 bhp and 90 Nm of torque. Currently, this engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, but, on the contrary, the new Alto K10 would have an optional AMT gearbox for the buyers. Thus, it will emerge as the country's cheapest automatic car, usurping the Celerio from this prestigious title. Speculations were quite rife that it would be launched in the month of October around the festive season of Diwali, but now it has been learnt that it would come around the months of Novermber-December. New Maruti Alto K10 would be launched in price bracket of Rs 3.2 - 4 Lakhs. It will take on the Hyundai Eon 1.0L and Nissan's cost-effective brand, Datsun's lone offering in the country, the GO hatchback.
