Maruti Suzuki launched the third generation Dzire compact sedan back in May 2017 and since then this car has been very successful in retaining the popularity. Not only that, the sedan has become even more popular and for third consecutive months, it is the top-selling model in the Indian car market. In February 2018, Maruti Suzuki has registered 20,941 units for the popular and stylish compact sedan.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been dominating the highly competitive compact sedan segment of Indian car market for quite long time and with the fresh-looking third-generation model, the car has been able to impress more buyers. Thanks to its upmarket stance and premium features, the new Dzire has become even more appealing compared to the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the premium midsize sedan from the brand.
Speaking about the design of the third-generation Dzire, it comes sporting a larger and chrome garnished front grille, new sharp headlamps with projector units and integrated LED daytime running lights. The side profile, new-design alloy wheels, LED taillights are the other elements enhancing its visual appeal. Inside the cabin, the Dzire gets a flat-bottom sporty multifunction steering wheel, dual-pod instrument cluster with analog and digital display, a large touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console, faux wooden trims etc.
On the Powertrain front, Maruti Suzuki Dzire is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol model gets a 1.2-litre VVT engine, while the diesel variant gets tried and tested 1.3-litre DDiS unit. Availability of 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AGS on both petrol and diesel models have increased the appeal of the car. Maruti Suzuki has already sold nearly 1.50 lakh models of the new Dzire in India.
