Maruti Suzuki India will launch the all-new Maruti Ertiga in the country on November 18, 2018 suggest media reports. Set to take a leap into the second generation, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga will be based on Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform which was first introduced on Baleno. While Ertiga will receive radical visual changes, the MPV will also grow in terms of proportions. That said, the new Maruti Eritga will measure 99 mm longer, 40 mm wider and 5 mm taller as compared to the existing version.
There will be no change to the wheelbase which measures 2,740 mm. On the feature front, the fully-loaded top-spec variant is likely to pack in plethora of gizmos and gadgets including engine start/stop button, keyless entry, projector headlamps, LED tail-lamps, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, multi-function steering wheel and SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system. Coming to the safety, the new Ertiga will get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder for front seats, speed alert system, speed-sensing auto door lock, ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear parking sensors and auto door unlock as standard across carline.
Maruti will use the all-new 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine for the 2018 Ertiga. This unit made its debut on the Ciaz. In terms of power, the petrol unit makes 103 bhp against top torque of 138 Nm. This engine is expected to come paired to a conventional 5-speed manual unit along with an optional 4-speed automatic gearbox. Suzuki will equip its SHVS mild hybrid technology in the model to make it more frugal.
The diesel powered variants in the carline will get the newly developed 1.5-litre diesel unit that will replace the Fiat sourced oil burner. A six-speed manual unit will be linked to the new engine. For those not in the know, the all-new Ertiga will be retailed through company’s NEXA chain of outlets.
