New Maruti Suzuki Dzire is now tagged as the best-selling car in India as the manufacturer has sold 30,934 units in the month of August 2017. It was launched earlier in May 2017 and since then it has been performing very well in the market in terms of sales. By the end of August, it managed to top the list of best sellers throughout the country.

The next-gen Dzire is manufactured at the company's Manesar plant in Haryana. Besides, it is also being produced at the Suzuki’s new plant in Gujarat. Last month, Swift and Dzire together managed to sell over 42,000 units, which is a resounding number considering the level of competition in the sedan segment.

The all-new Dzire is built on the new generation platform and borrows some of its styling from the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift. It is longer, wider and lighter from the previous generation model. The exterior design features an all-new hexagonal grille and LED headlamps with DRLs as standard. The cabin of the car has received some notable changes, which includes a new dashboard, dual pod instrument console more comfortable seats with praiseworthy headroom and legroom for the occupants. The top-end trim features a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPLay and Android Auto.

The India-spec model borrows engines from its predecessor and is offered in both the options of diesel and petrol engines. The petrol unit features a 1.2-litre K-Series engine, which churns out a maximum power output of 82 bhp against a peak torque of 113 Nm. On the other side, the diesel variant comes with a 1.3-litre DDiS engine to develop a maximum power of 74 bhp and a peak torque of 190 Nm. Both the engines come paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while an AMT variant is optional.

The price of the petrol variant ranges between Rs. 5.45 lakh to Rs. 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the diesel ones are priced between Rs. 6.45 lakh to Rs. 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
