New Porsche Macan Launched at Rs. 76.84 Lakhs

Porsche India has launched an entry-level variant of the Macan SUV with a new 4-cylinder turbo engine at a sticker price of Rs. 76.84 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Maharashtra) in the country. The new Porsche Macan is now available for sale at Porsche Centres across India. The German automaker recently introduced the new 911 in the Indian market. The new variant would challenge the base variant of the recently launched Jaguar F-PACE, while it is nearly Rs. 4 Lakhs more expensive than the F-PACE.

Commenting on the arrival of the new model, Pavan Shetty, Director of Porsche India, said: “The new addition to the Macan range further evolves an already exceptional sports car line-up in the compact SUV range to new heights, at an attractive price. With a specially tailored engine, sporty design accents and cutting edge technology, the Macan is the definition of a five-door sports car, remaining true to its concept as a car built for a life of adventure. This compact SUV packs just as much punch, and the same outstanding drive comfort, as you would expect from any Porsche.” Just so you know, with an unladen weight of 1,770 kilograms, the Macan is the lightest SUV made by Porsche with boot capacity of 500 litres. The new SUV also comes with the latest generation Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and electronically controlled Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

As for features, the new Macan SUV gets side window trim strips and brake callipers in black, the latter shielded behind 18-inch wheels, alongside an exhaust system with two single tailpipes made of brushed stainless steel. Inside the cabin, the SUV has comfort seats with electric eight-way adjustment on the driver’s side, Alcantara middle seat panels, a lane-departure warning system and a powered tailgate. Under the hood, it has the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine which develops 252bhp of top power between 5000-6800rpm and 370Nm of peak torque between 1600-4500rpm. It is linked to a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission which transmits the power to all the four wheels via standard Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive system. It does the 0-100kmph sprint in just 6.7 seconds with top speed of 229kmph, while returning a mileage of 12.71kmpl. The PTM 4WD system comprises of an electronic and map-controlled multi-plate clutch, automatic brake differential (ABD) and anti-slip regulation (ASR).
