- Porsche Taycan EV to launch in 2020 in India.
- Porsche Taycan 4S gets Performance Battery Plus option pack.
- Porsche Taycan will at least cost Rs 2 Crore (Ex. Showroom).
Porsche has unveiled a new entry-level trim of its electric sedan Taycan. Being named as Porsche Taycan 4S, it is placed below the Turbo and Turbo S grades.
Recently, Pavan Shetty, Porsche India's Director stated that the Taycan EV will be launched in the Indian market in 2020. However, no hint regarding the price was dropped but we expect it to be in excess of Rs 2 Crore (Ex. Showroom).
As for the exterior styling, Porsche Taycan 4S flaunts a different front apron and side sills. The EV also rides on smaller 19-inch wheels while red-painted calipers and rear diffuser are also different from the other two variants. However, it retains the dynamic LED lamps as standard.
The Porsche Taycan 4S interior features part-leather as standard but one can also avail of a leather-free cabin, developed by recycled materials. The brakes are comparatively smaller than the Turbo and Turbo S with front calipers at 360mm with six pistons while rear calipers stand at 358mm with four pistons.
Under the hood, Porsche Taycan 4S has a 79.2kWh battery which gives it a driving range of 406 km. The top power output stands at 530bhp which can be further enhanced to 571bhp by opting for the Performance Battery Plus option pack. It takes the battery output from 79.2kWh to 93.4kWh while also increasing the driving range from 406 km to 462 km.
The battery is linked to a 2-speed transmission and an all-wheel-drive system with two electric motors across both axles. Though, the 0-100kmph sprint time is unchanged at 4 seconds.
