Skoda India would launch the facelift version of its SUV Yeti tomorrow in the country. The updated Yeti was also showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo and recently media drives were also held. The new Yeti follows Skoda's latest design philosophy and is quite elegant.
The Yeti would comprise of two variants - 4X4 and 4X4. Though, both the variants would in-house the same 2.0-litre diesel engine but the power output and torque performance would be different. The front wheel drive variant would have power output of 108bhp and peak torque of 250Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the all-wheel-drive variant would be more powerful as it would have a power output of 138bhp in accordance with a peak torque of 320Nm. The engine would be coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission which will evenly distribute the power to all the four wheels.
Everything about the new Yeti is almost known, sans the pricing. But, due to its distinct pricing, it has got no potential rivals in the country. Apparently, it can turn out to be a competitor to the likes of Mahindra XUV 500 and Renault Duster, if Skoda get the pricing bang on. Let's hope for the best and wait for tomorrow noon 12 PM (IST) when Skoda pulls off the curtains.
