The Japanese car manufacturer Toyota is all set to regain its lost ground in the Indian SUV market, with its all new Fortuner. Recently the SUV was seen in dealerships undisguised and now the company has opened online registration of the new Fortuner for interested customers through the company's website.
According to the company the SUV would be launched in 7th November and the new ‘register’ tab in Toyota’s website will assist interested customers to gain access to buying details by entering their basic information. The SUV was spotted earlier at a dealership in Gujrat. The SUV comes equipped with great looking sleek headlamps with daytime running lights and a heavy dose of chrome around the fog lamps and front grille. The cuts and creases along the side profile of the SUV makes the SUV look more masculine and macho.
The all new Toyota Fortuner is expected to come with the same engines that power the new Innova Crysta, which was launched earlier this year. The SUV’s diesel avatar might offer two engine choices - 2.4 liter and 2.8 liter. The petrol variant, on the other hand, is likely to come with a 2.7 liter mill. Power will be transmitted through either a 6-speed manual or the 6-speed automatic transmission which can also be seen in the 2.8-litre engine on the Innova Crysta. When it comes to the competition, the all-new Toyota Fortuner will compete against the likes of the Ford Endeavour and the Chevrolet Trailblazer in the SUV segment.
The previous version of Toyota Fortuner was quite a popular model which did great in terms of sales. It was launched with a 3.0 liter and a 2.5 liter engine, with option to choose from a 5 speed manual or automatic transmission system. However the sales of the old SUV dropped due to launch of better competitors.
