The recently launched Bajaj Discover 150 has got a new TV commercial. Bajaj launched the two versions of their popular Discover 150 named S and F. Discover boasts of a long presence in the Indian market, which saw many versions over the year right from 100 cc to 125cc, 135 cc and now 150cc. The new commercial shows the aggressive market strategy adopted by the Bajaj Auto to push the discover sales.
Bajaj discover is being widely considered as one of the favorite commuter bikes in India powered by a 4 valve DTSi engine with an exhaust technology, which generates power of 14.5 PS @ 8500rpm and a maximum torque of 1.3kg-m @ 6500 rpm, good enough to reach a top speed of 110kmph. One of the reasons for being famous is also the best in class mileage of around 72 kmpl along with the specially designed comfort seats. But Bajaj wanted to portray the bike as not only a commuter, but a fun filled bike too.
This gave birth to the new TVC where, one can see a group of office goers coming back from work with low energy. Some dramatics were added converting their rides to the Discover and as soon as they started riding the Discover, all the enjoyment filled into the atmosphere with their pillion also laughing and enjoying (as if the dramatics were not enough to convert the bike into the Discover, pillions came into existence from nowhere). Nevertheless, the catchy soundtrack from the movie Bhag Milkha Bhag and the concept of showing the bike as a powerful, fun filled, good in fuel efficiency ride, is a nice attempt from Bajaj to tap the 150 segment consumer base.
Bajaj discover will be facing a fierce competition from the Yamaha SZ, Honda CB Unicorn and the Hero Achiever. Priced at around Rs 52000 for the drum version and going up to Rs 60000 for the fuel injected version, the Discover is a nice bike for the commuter segment supported by the Bajaj's brand name.
