There is a lot of activity on the Indian car market scene and many car manufacturers are ready to introduce their face lifted models or diesel variants in the market soon. Both Nissan and Maruti Suzuki have made similar announcements. Nissan said that it is coming out with a modified model of its ‘Micra’ and ‘Micra Active’ brand while Maruti Suzuki said that they are going to launch a diesel variant of ‘Wagon R’ and maybe ‘Alto’ as well. This is good news for the general public as they are likely to have more choice in the ‘hatchback’ categories.
A modified ‘Micra’ and ‘Micra Active’ are unveiled in the market by ‘Nissan’. Both models are placed in the ‘B’ category and are likely to cost lower than the original brand. This version of ‘Micra’ is manufactured entirely in the country and comes with some changes in the exterior of the car. The ‘grille’ looks different; it has new designed front lamps and the ‘bumpers’. ‘Micra Active’ is manufactured in the country and is priced Rupees ‘3.5 lakhs’ in the nation’s capital, ‘Delhi’ ex showroom. This brand is considered to be stylish, and comes with a good seating capacity. The engine of the vehicle uses petrol very judiciously. The newer face lifted model looks more like a sports car with it is sleekly designed ‘bumpers’ and uncluttered seating arrangements. Thus it is economical, highly stylish and easy to drive.
Maruti have also announced that they are going to introduce diesel variants to all its smaller cars like ‘Wagon R, and Alto’. A diesel variant of ‘Wagon R’ is likely to come on market very soon. It is rumoured that the diesel engine will be ‘1.2’ Litre’ turbo charged’ with 3 Cylinders. So far the company has not released any details of the diesel engine they are going to introduce. They are also likely to introduce a ‘concept’ model for ‘Alto A-Star’ as the model has reached a maturity stage.
