Like we reported earlier Piaggio is all set to launch new Vespa scooters this Tuesday at an event in Mumbai. Piaggio will comeup with two new scooters for the Indian scooter market including the Vespa SXL and the Vespa VXL. The launch event will be held in the presence of company’s new global brand ambassador and legendary football player Alessandro Del Piero.

We were speculating whether or not the company will comeup with a new model this year. But according to the images released on Bikewale.com, the company will not be releasing a new model but will be launching two new variants in the existing Vespa models. The Vespa SXL will comeup wearing giddy blue colour, new instrumental cluster and bigger tires. There are more colour options available in the Vespa SXL as well that will be revealed tomorrow at the launch.

Also the VXL variant will get a new instrumental cluster, tires and alloy wheels. Talking about the mechanicals, the new Vespa scooters will carry on the existing 125cc single-cylinder engine that churns out 10bhp at 7500rpm and peak torque of 10.6Nm at 6000rpm. The updated models might be priced slightly above the existing models. We expect a price difference of INR 4000 to 5000 between the existing variants and new variants.
