Recently, it has emerged that the new Jetta will reach our shores in first quarter of 2015, post the launch of Polo and Vento facelifts which both are coming in this year only. Last week, we reported about the 2015 VW Jetta facelift that made its debut at the New York Auto show recently. The new Jetta will enter the European market in second half of this year.
The 2015 Jetta is thoroughly updated with a host of substantial changes both in and out. The car now looks more premium and modern than its outgoing version.

Volkswagen Group's new petrol engine is a revolutionary development
At the front, the new Jetta gets three slats in the grille that goes well with a similarly redesigned double-lip bumper. The new diligently clustered LED equipped headlights in combination with bold VW badge over the grille further accentuate the freshness. Rear styling is considerably revised with new registration plate housing, subtly revised bumper and Audi-like dual piece tail lamps. The sides will continue to boast similar styling but new double spoke shaped alloy wheels will spice it up.
The interiors will sport only minor changes like new instrument console that will have two dials housed alongside an informative display. Steering wheel will be derived from the Golf hatchback while the upholstery and other elements will also be tweaked to freshen up the cabin ambience. The 2015 Jetta will continue to be powered with 2.0-litre TDI engine but in a retuned version that will have an additional power of 10 horses on its tap. Drive will be transmitted to roads via either 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox).
The new Jetta will compete with the Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and the upcoming Toyota Corolla Altis in our market.
Volkswagen has planned an aggressive strategy to boost its presence in the Indian market. The company will update its complete lineup, start with the launch of 2014 Polo to be followed by the Vento facelift later this year and then the new Jetta in first quarter of 2015. The other launches will be of new Passat that will get accompanied by the Taigun and an all-new Vento based compact sedan in 2016.
