The WagonR in India is one of the most successful models coming out of the Maruti Suzuki stable. Recently, Suzuki showcased the new WagonR at the Tokyo Motor Show, which looks quite similar to the recently launched Stingray version of the WagonR. The new model is curvier than the current model and the oversized headlamps grab most of the attention. The sleek chrome dipped 6-plate grille makes the car more elegant while the huge plastic air-scoops add more sportiness to the vehicle. The new WagonR might see the Indian market too!

The new WagonR showcased at Tokyo Motor Show has more rounded edges than the current model. The model is closer to the look of a wagon than the current model and still has the boxy DNA. The car looks like a fresh new model from outside and inside and Suzuki has done a lot of work to give the car a new fresh look. The outside rear view mirrors now incorporates the integrated turn indicators, which leaves a lot of space for the headlamps to grow.

From the rear, the new WagonR gets refreshed clear lens tail-lamps. The bumpers now look integrated to the car body and carries the reflectors with it. To add a sporty look to vehicle, Suzuki has also bolted a roof-spoiler to the boxy looking car.

Inside the new WagonR, we could not find any lever for manual transmission or handbrake, but be assured that Suzuki would definitely make room between the seats and fit the manual transmission and the hand brake inside the vehicle, if there is not electronic brake that is. Suzuki has carried many indifferent changes in the car, which for sure do not look regular. The new WagonR also features controls on the steering wheel and a large LCD bang in the middle of the center console. A start/stop button could also be seen in the car, which will come as a good feature for the top-spec variant.

Maruti WagonR still comes on the top of the list when a buyer goes to buy the first car, but the fact that the car has not been updated since a long time(apart from the Stingray version, of course) makes it kind of boring. The new WagonR with a long list of change will attract more customers and we hope that the car will be in highlight during upcoming Auto Expo scheduled to happen in February next year.
