Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Vs Maruti Suzuki Swift: Specifications Comparison
Speaking on the sidelines of Grand i10 NIOS launch, a company official told that the company will bring the DCT gearbox to i20 and Creta as it facilitates faster gear shifts as compared to AMT and torque converter units. Currently, the Venue sub-4-meter SUV comes with 7-speed DCT unit with the 1.0L turbo petrol engine and it is believed that Hyundai might offer the same combination with the 2020 i20. The company has revealed that the DCT gearbox variant has accounted for 30-40 per cent of the total bookings for the Venue, which clearly indicates that it has found acceptance in India and buyers are liking it.
Besides the regular petrol engine, the 2020 Hyundai i20 will also come packed with an all-new 1.5L diesel engine which will be BS-VI compliant. The 1.5L diesel motor will be offered in a naturally aspirated mode while it replaces the current i20's 1.4L engine. The 1.5L engine with VGT will replace the 1.6L diesel engine in Creta and Verna. Recently, the all-new i20 was spotted testing on the Indian roads and the images stated that it will be bigger in terms of interior space while featuring connected technology such as BlueLink system.
