Honda Cars India is all set to launch the new-generation Amaze sedan in May 2018 in the country. As per a report from AutoCar India, the bookings for the new-gen Honda Amaze would start from tomorrow across the authorized company dealerships. The booking amount can be fixed at Rs. 21,000 while deliveries can be expected by the end of May 2018. The Japanese automaker had showcased the new-gen sedan at the 2018 Auto Expo in February in Greater Noida alongside the likes of all-new CR-V and Civic sedan.
As far as exterior styling is concerned, the new-gen Honda Amaze flaunts an even more prominent nose with designing cues taken from City sedan. The top-end variants of the sedan are expected to ride on ten-spoke alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, it would retain the dual-tone upholstery identical to the current-gen model. There would be an updated touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard. The sedan would be more spacious than the current model with enhanced legroom for the rear seat occupants. As for the pricing, the new-gen Amaze is believed to cost somewhat higher than the current model, while it competes with the likes of Maruti DZire, Hyundai Xcent, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Tigor, and Ford Aspire in India.
Mechanically, the new-gen Amaze would get the same petrol and diesel powertrains as the ongoing model. The petrol variants would be powered by the 1.2L 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine with maximum power of 88bhp, while the diesel variants would draw their power from a 1.5L 4-cylinder i-DTEC engine which would belt out 99bhp. The petrol variants would be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard alongwith CVT gearbox as optional. The diesel variants, for the first time ever, would be available with a CVT gearbox as optional besides the 6-speed manual transmission. The promotional activities and media drive of the new-gen Amaze sedan are expected to commence in first week of May.
