Next-gen Hyundai Creta to come with seven-seat option

Hyundai Motor India launched the Creta SUV in July 2015 and the model has proven to be the most successful SUV for the brand in the country. Hyundai Creta marked 1 lakh sale of the product within a year. Currently, the Hyundai Creta SUV competes with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and now reports have emerged that the Korean car maker has already started working on the next generation model of the SUV.

Reportedly, the next generation Creta will also get an option of seven seat layout that will be an addition to the five-seater configuration of the current version, meaning the second generation of the model will be increased length to add third row seats. The car will most likely make its launch by the year 2021.

According to the company, by this time the new Creta will be offered in both five-seater and seven-seater, as in the there are two category of the prospective buyers in the market and for each of these variants the company wants to offer both the options. Presently, Honda BR-V and Mahindra XUV500 are available in the a seven-seat option at the same price range of the Creta.

But before the 2021 expected launch, Hyundai will launch the facelift model of the Creta prior to that in India and it is the same that is expected to make its debut at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show this month. The facelift version receive some cosmetic updates as seen in the teaser image like bigger radiator grille with a chrome outline, slim horizontally designed fog lamp units, a wider faux skid plate on the front lower bumper. While at the rear, it will get a reworked inside arrangement of the tail lamps, but with an untouched design, full-length chrome strip running between the tail lamps and repositioned reflectors at the rear bumper.

Hyundai will most likely launch the facelift version of the Creta in the year 2017. Currently, Hyundai is gearing up to launch its full size sedan Hyundai Tucson.
