Hyundai will unveil the new generation Hyundai i30 premium hatchback at the 2016 Paris Motor Show in October, while the current Hyundai i30 model was first showcased at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and also made its appearance at the Auto Expo 2016. Earlier, it was also rumoured to be launched in India, but the company has not confirmed for the same. In the U.S. and Canada, the car is sold as the Hyundai Elantra GT and it will continue to remain so in the third generation.
The Hyundai i30 will be offered in three body styles- a five-door, an estate and a four-door coupe, while the company has dropped the idea for three-door styling from its lineup. The model will be based on the company's evolved Fluidic 2.0 Design Philosophy and the interior is expected to borrow some cues from the new Elantra that is expected to be launched in India by the end of this year.
Moreover, the next-gen i30 will also get a top-ranging model by N performance, which is Hyundai’s N division. The model will compete with the Volkswagen Golf GTI, once it goes on sale and will also be the first performance road car from the brand's performance division. It will be power packed with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and will share technology with Hyundai’s current i20-based WRC rally car.
