Hyundai India could skip the facelifted model for the new-gen version.
The 2020 Hyundai Tucson is being developed under the NX4 codename.
It is expected to receive copious styling changes inside out.
Hyundai is expected to launch the fourth-generation Tucson sometime by 2020. The SUV received a facelift last year and is already available internationally. As for the Indian market, Hyundai could skip the facelift and bring the new-gen model instead. Coming to the Next-Gen Hyundai Tucson it is being developed under the codename NX4 and has been spotted testing for the first time in the home turf South Korea.
In terms of changes, it is expected to receive copious cosmetic tweaks on the outside and inside. Externally, the SUV seems to get most of the changes in front with respect to the company’s latest design language, seen in new Hyundai cars globally. Going by this philosophy, expect the new-gen Tucson to get a bolder cascading grille, dual-split headlamps, reworked bumper, LED daytime running lights seen in the new Hyundai SUVs. Also, expect a new set of alloy wheels at sides and LED tail-lamp graphics at the rear.
The new Tucson SUV is likely to be offered in both five and seven-seat layouts. India is likely to receive both the versions of the SUV and compete against models such as MG Hector and Tata Harrier in the segment. A mild-hybrid variant could also be introduced in some of the markets, whereas the conventionally powered petrol and diesel variants will continue to be sold in most of the markets.
While there is still time in the launch of fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson, the Korean car giant is prepping to roll out the new generation model of its popular B-segment hatchback, Grand i10 in the country that has been spied testing around several times. Next up, Hyundai has lined-up Elantra Facelift and Elite i20 Facelift.
