Next-gen Renault Duster to seat seven

Snapshot: Next generation Renault Duster would be bigger and would seat seven people.

With combined sales of over 1 million sales worldwide, the Renault Duster / Dacia Duster is perhaps one of the most popular car. The new generation of the Brazilian publication Quatrorodas, the new Duster when it is launched in 2017 will grow marginally in breadth and height and substantially in length to accommodate 7 seats.

The car is expected to look very similar to current car which sells in the international markets (the latest facelift has not yet been launched in India). The extended car with longer wheelbase of 4.5meters is expected in two variants, 5-seater and 7-seater. The 5-seater version of the car is expected to be launched ahead of the 7-seater variant. India would receive the seven-seater variant of the car to counter the competition from the Mahindra Scorpio, Quanto etc.

At present, Duster is India’s fourth largest market. The car is manufactured with Nissan-Renault alliance with a very high degree of localization at company’s Chennai plant.
