Skoda will be unveiling its next-gen Skoda Octavia on November 11, 2019
The official launch could be by the end of next year.
Skoda Octavia has been on the road since 2013. Six years down the line is long enough for a vehicle to show signs of aging, despite a facelift in 2017. There were plans to introduce the Next-Gen Skoda Octavia at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. However, the next-gen Skoda Octavia in its notchback form will be unveiled on November 11, 2019, at a stand-alone event.
The new Skoda Octavia will use an updated version of Volkswagen’s MQB platform. Hence, it will sport larger dimensions as compared to the existing model. The model will also get a revised styling on the lines of the Skoda Kamiq and Skoda Scala.
The vehicle will get a traditional headlight layout along with a broader and sleeker grille as compared to the split headlight and grill design present today.
A revamped interior is on the cards for the next-gen Skoda Octavia. The two-spoke steering wheel like the one seen on Skoda Vision X Concept is one of the significant changes. A minimalistic dashboard with a digital instrument cluster and infotainment system will enhance the interior looks of the vehicle. The AC vents now go under the infotainment system.
The 1.5L TSI Turbo Petrol engine could find its way into the new Skoda Octavia, as it plans to offer the vehicle with petrol engines only. The car could come with a similar 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 6-speed manual gearbox system, as available in the existing model.
The vehicle could launch in India by the end of 2020. The next-gen Skoda Octavia will compete with Hyundai Elantra and Honda Civic. In the meanwhile, Skoda might launch its midsize Karoq SUV by the middle of next year.
